Started a scrappy

I have been working on a quilt for a new great grandson.  It's a scrappy and it has been so much fun.  I will have to look for more material for cute center pieces and make more squares.  Anyway, here is what I have so far.

So then I thought I would throw in another winter picture for you all to admire.

Hope the weather is nice where you are at, maybe you'll have a swim like the ducks in the photo.

Keep on quilting my friends,

A Flimsy is done

Hi all,

For two days I worked on another small quilt when I pulled out a pack of charm packs from the cupboard.  UFO's?  What UFO's, lol.  They are still sitting in a pile waiting.

I had fun doing this one, it was fast and easy with pretty colors. Hubby is holding it up for me.

Now I am starting a scrappy baby quilt, 3 squares done, more to do today.

Tonight hubby and I are going to our Beautiful Pines Theatre to see Hidden Figures.  I think it going to really good.

Hi everyone, and a good day to you.

My hubby is having a good day today also, he finally sold his car and is getting his new truck.  A Chevy Colorado I believe.  So happy for him. ( pics later )

I am happy to say that I am just about over this cold, and after a week and a half I am so ready to be over it!  Seems like forever if you know what I mean.

We are going over to my friend Marilyn's for some sewing today which is always fun.  Socializing and chit chat and some hot tea and cookies.  Always does the heart good.

Now doesn't this picture just make you feel cold?  It was taken in taken in Traverse City, Mi.  Not sure when it was taken, but I know we do get the wind up there and with all the icey stuff we get, whew!  As for us, we have been getting a Spring thaw in January!  Go figure.

Well, I hope to be getting back to some sewing now that I am feeling better.

Until later,

Been working on my blog

I must say it is not always easy keeping up a blog!  I have had so many problems trying to get it listed on Bloglovin.  I ran some tests on my site, fixed a few things, and it still wasn't working.  I was about ready to switch over to Word Press, but I contacted Bloglovin and a lady there put it on for me.  Whew!  I really did not want to change and start all over again, and I do really like using Blogger.  I have also been trying out new headers and I think I have come up with one I like...at least for now!

I haven't done any sewing at all as my husband's cold finally caught up to me and it is a dosey!  My nose feels 10x bigger than normal, and I even had a day of chills and aches.  So I am still resting up.

Let me know how you like the new header.  Till next time,

Good Morning

Wow, so many people are having weird weather lately.  Here in Mi. it is going to be almost 40 today!  That is so unusual for January.  We have had a lot of ice so I'm sure it will melt and be pretty messy.  Hope you all are doing OK where you are at.

I am trying to work out the bugs on my Blogger acct. Also been trying out Word Press.  Don't know yet what I am going to do there.

Got the borders on the 2 charity quilts I've been working on, and that is as far as I've gotten.  Spending way too much time on my computer, and clearing ice! lol

Are we all ready for the big day tomorrow?  Inauguration Day!  I just hope everything goes peacefully.  So many "nuts" out there.    I know I will be watching.

OK, that's it for today, back to my blog site and see what's going to happen.  Have a great day!

Bad roads

Well, I decided to venture out yesterday.  The roads were just ok, I didn't go over 40 all the way into town.  I did some grocery shopping, got  material for my borders, and headed home.  I had one tire that had been losing air so I stopped a gas station, the tire was flat!.    The air pump was not working and it was the last gas station on the home stretch. Soooooo, I drove to the auto repair place on a flat tire.  Yep, I ruined the tire.  Hubby went up and ordered 2 new tires for me.  Meanwhile, I have the spare on.

HA HA HA

Anyway, I made it home and spent the rest of day inside.  I got the borders on 2 quilts.

The other part of my day was that my laptop broke.  It had been coming apart at the corner and it finally cracked and won't turn on.  (hence, no pictures)  I had a 2 year extended warranty, not sure if it is still good.  Have to call them today, in the meantime I have been trying to get my notebook set up.  Whew!

So, I hope your day is going well.

Snow, Wind, Rain, Ice!

Well, that just about says it all.  The schools are ALL CLOSED, I risk my limbs making it out to the chicken coop.  The latch was frozen shut and I had to take a hammer to it to get it open.  The shed door was iced shut and I had to work to get that open too.  Yikes!  But the chickens were out for awhile, and they are all fine.

I started a top for the Charity Quilts we are working on.  I want to put one more border around to make it big enough for a child, but I don't have the right color.  So I'll finish it after I get to the store

So I've got soup going for dinner, and now I'm going to start a quilt top for a boy!  Stay warm folks.

Today I thought I'd share a little about some projects I finished or am working on. 😏

Right now I am finishing up a barn quilt I started last year and then got side tracked...

There were several project that I did and didn't get pictures of, duh!  But here are a few that I have.'
The rainbow project I did with "so scrappy".  I gave it to my granddaughter.

Here is my 365 project that I did with Quilty Folk

My BOM that I did with Quilt Doodle Designs

And there were more.  Now onto new things for 2017!  Did anyone join the  "Art Of Home Club" with Jacquelynne Steves?  I did, it's going to be a lot of fun.

So I'm off to work on the barn quilt,  Have a good night!

I know, it's been awhile!

Hi everyone, Happy New Year!

I know it has been a very long time since I've written a post, life just got in the way.

We had taken a trip to Tennessee, Georgia and Florida to visit kids. They are scattered all over the country.  Spent some time with each one visiting and going here and there.  It was fun and we enjoyed seeing them.

I had cataract surgery on both eyes, 3 weeks apart from each other.  It went well but it was just before gardening time.  So the garden got in late and was not very fruitful.  Later however, I did purchase some fruits and veggies at the fruit store and did a lot of canning.  I also bought a pressure cooker and canned some meat and chili etc.

We also started a new project : Chickens!  Hubby built a coop inside the shed in the back corner and cut their door on the back of the shed.  We built an 8x8 enclosure for them with a wire roof.  Well part of it was wood about 3 feet out from the shed and the rest wire.

I found a place to get my chickens and I got 3.  One turned out to be a rooster which I didn't want because of the noise factor.  So I got rid of him and got 2 more chickens.  So now I have 4.

I also had 2 grandsons up at different times.  Of course that is always fun and we do a lot of things.

Finally in the fall I got back into quilting.  I started on Christmas things, made quilts for one son and another for a daughter-in-law.  Made some table runners, hot pads and pot holders, and a few pillowcases.

Now I am back to quilting for me.  I'm working on a wall hanging for my kitchen with roosters on it.  No roosters in the yard, but they are ok on my walls, lol.

There's a new club starting up!

YOU CAN JOIN THE CLUB FROM JANUARY 10 THROUGH JANUARY 14!!

There is a lot offered in the club so go here and check it out!

Well, glad to be back,  I joined some new blogs and I read them all on Bloglovin.  That should keep me inspired.  So until next time, happy quilting.
