Oh What Yucky Weather!

Well, we went from 50 degrees to cold, with snow last night and then thunderstorms!  Yeesh!  I'm staying in today for sure.

I've been working on the same quilt.  Started putting sashing on and Mattie was too much help!

Anyway you can see what I am trying to work on!  Sugar on the other hand stayed out of the way.  She was busy looking cute in her favorite box.  She needs to lose a little weight, he he he.

Today I am linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts, and Lilly's Quilts.

Have  a great day.

A Delivery From the Mailman- I Won!

I was so surprised to find out I had won the drawing for some pieces of material from Brooke at Silly Mama Quilts.  She has some wonderful things on her blog, I suggest you give her a visit.

And here is what I won - pretty fabric - Thanks Brooke

Yesterday I made a few more squares and last night I started adding sashing.

All the while, my dogs rested, and let me work!

Did I mention that my granddaughter was pregnant? She is due in July and is having a boy.  Can you tell?

Well, I'm  off to quilt - and clean house!

A few little things done.

It's rainy here today, and I hate the rain.  I guess it will wash a lot of the snow away though 😌

I got tired of making the squares I am doing and decided to make myself a pin cushion.  Turned out ok for my first one, but I now know what I would do different in making them.  A learning curve to everything!

I also made my first months square for the Sun, Sand and Sea BOM that is going on at Sew Incredible Crazy.  I think it is going to be a fun quilt to make.

I have been sewing away on the squares I am making for the next quilt I am making.  I think I have like 35  done.  So good progress there.

The snow is melting

Yay!  It is a bright sun shiney day, the snow is melting and it's warm.  I am so glad.

The last couple of days I have been finishing up a quilt I started a long time ago, back when people were doing the barn quilts.  I used all scraps for these blocks and finally put some borders and backing on it and got it quilted up.  Sure glad that thing is done.  It wasn't my favorite and I had procrastinated enough.

 BACK

So last night I started a new project.  I'm using a pack of 10" squares and making these blocks.

Another pretty quick project.

Well, almost time to get out the St. Patrick's Day decorations.  Where does the time get to anyway?  I don't do much for this holiday, but I do have a St. Patrick's Day quilt that I will get out soon.  I also have a green and white table top that I may get out.  How about you?  Do you decorate for St. Patty's Day?

Saint Patrick's Day

Saint Patrick's Day
Saint Patrick's Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick, is a cultural and religious celebration held on 17 March, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick, the foremost patron saint of Ireland.

Today I am linking up with Moose Stash Quilting.  She has news of a new Blog Hop.

Valentine's Day & BOM

Well I had a great Valentine's Day thanks to my hubby!  It also happens to be our anniversary so that makes it even more special.  He went and got a remote start put on his truck, I figure that is his present.  But he came home with this:  Isn't he sweet.  I also got a new charm for my Pandora bracelet.  I'm a pretty lucky Girl.

We also went out for dinner and it was really good.

I finished the first 4 Dresden Plates for the BOM.  They do need to be put on the background fabric yet but I have to go get some.

Now I will have to wait for the new monthly blocks.  But I really like these and have had fun making them.

Meanwhile Sugar is playing in her box, and Mattie is bathing.

Happy Quilting!

Block of Month

Today I want to share with you the BOM I am going to be working on this year.   It is from Quilt Doodle Doodles.  I did one of hers a couple of years ago and quite enjoyed it, and this year she has another cute one.  Especially if you like Dresden Plates.  Here link is also on the left side of my website.

Here is a sample from her blog

But I wanted to do something different this time and still stay with the theme.  So I went shopping!  Remember the new material I showed you yesterday?  Yep, I'm doing mine with Batik's.  Here is my first block.

I like it!

Today the mailman brought me a surprise from my sister.  An early Birthday present!

Nice but not sure when I'll get to it.  She is a very thoughtful person.

It is nice and sunny today, feels good.  I have to take my dog to the vet today so I'm going to go get ready.

More progress...

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well today.  Happy Sunday!

After breakfast, and feeding the animals, I got busy on my quilt again. I got the sashing's done and got those put on

Then I got a border sewn on.

Wish the color showed up better in these pictures!  Anyway, I think I will take a break from this and do something with my new material! 😊

It's A Road Trip!

Yay!  Another road trip today with my friends Vera and Marilyn.  We drove down to Farwell and Clare to check out a couple of quilt stores and we all came home with something.  We also stopped at a place called Cops and Doughnuts and had a great lunch.  The waitress wore a shirt that said 'inmate', ha ha imagine that.

Anyway, here is what I got and can't wait to start working with.  I am forcing myself to keep working on my current quilt but I don't know how long I can hold out.

When I got home I took a nap...why am I always tired?

After dinner I got busy and finished all of the Cabin Fever blocks, Ta Dah!

And now I am going to bed.  Have a good one!

I'm Starting A New Quilt

Oh Yeah!

In browsing blogs online and I find this gem.

The girls running this are Amanda (Jedi Craft Girl), and Amber (Gigi's Thimble).  There are several patterns that take 5 fat quarters plus backing etc.  I chose to do this one, called Cabin Fever.

Here are my first two blocks

They go together fast once you have all your material cut, and are really fun to do.  There are also these patterns out so far.  Chains of Love, and Fresh Eggs.  Go and check them out.  I am going to go make some more squares!

Two finishes

Well, one of my finishes is a charity quilt that is going to the police station to give to children from bad situations.  That one is here:   You can visit "Sew Some Love" to share your charity quilt.

And this is the one I have been working on that is now all quilted and finished.  I used one charm pack and stuff from my stash.

I see there is a new quilt square by Fat Quarter Shop that many are now doing.  Here are a couple of links to see what some are doing with it.   Denise at pieced Brain and Melissa at Happy Quilting.  It is a new Jacobs Ladder and I'm thinking of doing it.

Have a good one.

Icy Weather Ahead

At least that's what I hear!  We shall see what happens.  If we do get the bad weather our Quilt Guild meeting will be cancelled for the 2nd month in a row!

The chickens are enjoying getting outside and go out just about every day.  Icy weather may keep them in.  Every time they hear me any where near the door wall they rush over and stand there staring in to see if I will feed them some tasty morsels.  It is funny, but drives the dog nuts!

As for quilting, I am finished quilting the small green and pink quilt I am making and am now I'm on to hemming the binding on.  YAY!

Progress is being made.

Today I am linking up with Cathy at Sane, Crazy, Crumby Quilting.  She makes some unusual quilts and I really liked her purple Wonky Log Cabin.  Visit her here

Keep on Quilting!
