Charity Quilts

Good Morning friends and quilters.  Hope all of you are having a wonderful Sunday.  The sun is shining here, although it is still quite cold.

This morning I saw that Sarah from Confessions Of A Fabric Addict had a post about "Hands To Help".  A great way to help people in need with quilts.  They have been going since 2011 and this is the beginning of the 8th year.  It has steadily been growing and I have joined their numbers this year.  You know we all quilt more than we can give away, (at least I know I do), and this is the perfect way to use our skills to help others.  You may be interested in helping also.  If so, just click below for all the information.  There are even goodies for all those that help.

I had a double yolker the other day.  Way to go chickie!  This is the 2nd one I have had in the last couple of weeks.  The girls are really glad that the weather is breaking a bit and they can do more outside time.

I have been putting the binding on a quilt I am making for my husband.  It should be done today.
Then I will have to start on binding this gem that I finished a couple of weeks ago.

So lets get going, or relaxing since it is Sunday.  Whatever you are doing, enjoy your day.

I can't believe how long it's been!

Can you believe it has been a year since I have posted?  I guess I just got busy with everything else going on.

Anyway, this is going to be short and sweet, I have been doing a lot of sewing and you can check out what I have done so far that is finished on the 2018 tab above.

I am finally getting ready to take a trip to California in a few weeks to see my grandson.  It has been 3 long years since I've been out there!  Can't wait to see them all.  I had to order a new carry on bag and have to get a couple of other things and I'll be all set to go.  I  have to call my girl friend that lives there and let her know I am coming.  We always like to get together and do lunch and spend a day together catching up.

CAN'T WAIT

A Shop Hop

I went on a shop hop this last week and had a good time checking out the stores.  There were only 4 quilt shops involved in this one but it was still fun.  I got some free goodies!

There were 5 fat quarters, a cute Kleenex holder, a fold up purse size lint roller, a tape measure, and a pin.  Ha ha, I didn't notice the cat hair until after I took the pictures.

I just loved this material and had to buy some.

These materials are for a later project, the one on the right is actually a really pretty summer panel.

And I also picked up an orange peel template.

Finished this wall hanging, the pattern was from Jacquelynn Steves.

This table topper still needs to be bound, the kit was my Christmas present at the quilt guild Christmas party.

That's my news, have a good week.

A small wall hanging

Good Happy Easter Day to all of you.  May you be blessed.

I have been working on a lot of quilting projects.  I had ordered this wall hanging kit on sale at Fat Quarter Shop, turned out pretty cute.

I also finished another block for the Sun, Sand, and Sea BOM.  They have a FB page HERE.

I am working on another wall hanging right now, and I picked up a quilt from the quilter yesterday.  I'll show those tomorrow.

I hope you have fun this Easter and enjoy your holiday with family and friends.

Baby Quilts, etc.

Hi everyone,

A short absence while I adjusted to being tired all of the time from the weather, and then getting outside to do some yard work.  An absence from writing posts, not quilting.

I have finished a couple of baby quilts for the new baby that's coming in July.  A few appliqued planes make it better.

And then there is the pieced quilt.  I really like this one.

I have also been working on the quilt for the library show.  The theme is mystery books.  Well I love Nancy Drew.

I still have to bind this one and get it turned in, but the show isn't until May 10.  It is wall hanging size.

And last, but not least, I have two more squares done for the Quilt Doodles BOM.

So yeah, I've been busy.  I have also been following your blogs everyday as well.  Happy sewing!

Yum, Food!

Hi everyone

How are you?  I'm doing fine except for a partial that is killing me.  Dentist has adjusted it a couple of times and we have decided that it just can't be adjusted anymore.  So, tomorrow I am going in to be fitted for a new one.  Hate to put out the money, but when it hurts to wear it what are you going to do?

Made some cabbage soup today, my husband loves it.  Saved the big outer leaves of the cabbage and tomorrow, after the dentist I will put together some stuffed cabbage rolls. Yum.  I can smell it now.  Doesn't that picture just wet your appetite?

So anyway, I finally got my block for Sun Sand and Sea done.  I must say everyone is doing an incredible job.  You can also check them out on their FB group here.  This is going to be a very fun BOM.

Went shopping today and picked up some material to make another blanket for the future Great Grandson.  July is going to be here before you know it.

OK, I'm going to go check out the blogs and see what everyone else is doing.

BOM Squares

I received two more squares for March in the Quilt Doodle BOM and I have them both done!

I am loving these blocks!

I also have 16 squares done for the baby quilt I am making.  Now I have to sash it.

I had wanted to make something besides quilts, even though I hadn't sewn since my 20's, I got a pattern for a top.  My friend Marilyn helped me measure and adjust the pattern and we got it whipped together.  Then I brought it home and hemmed everything that needed  hemming.  Thank goodness for good friends that are willing to help you out. (It was an easy top to make)

Maybe we'll dress it up a little.

I also got the new BOM from Sun Sand and Sea, (link is on the left), but I haven't started that one yet.

We had quite a bit of wind roll in with some snow, and we are going to have a few day of cold.  Then it is going to go up to the 50's again.  I like that!
