Two More Tops Made

Hi everyone, hope all of you are progressing well on your projects.

I have finished 2 more tops.  The first one was a jelly roll, bright and cheery for summer!

The second one was from a pattern called take 5, here is a pic of the pattern

And here is the one I made

So those 2 will have to be sandwiched and quilted.

Still working on quilting my butterfly quilt, and started a cute wall hanging of a big cat face.  Will show that later.

The Hancock pkg of 10" squares I won from Nancy at Pug Mom Quilts arrived in the mail today.  Whoo hoo.  Now I will be pouring over patterns trying to decide how I want to use the material. Thanks again Nancy.

And for those household members that like to 'borrow' your scissors

Still cold here and suppose to get a little more snow.  Getting tired of winter.  February and March always seem to drag by.

Keep on quilting!

I Am A Winner

Oh how happy and excited I am to be a winner of this:  Well these are fat quarters and I won Hoffman Bali Crackers in Sparrow.  The same as the colors and patterns you see below but I am receiving a package of 40 10" squares.  Really pretty colors and patterns these are too. Thanks to Nancy at Pug Mom Quilts who also participated in the Grow Your Blog blog hop.  Nancy is under a ton of snow right now as many of us are.  Take a trip over and visit her blog.

I got my sewing machine back from the shop yesterday and have been sewing again.  Tomorrow we are getting together at Mary's house in the afternoon for our weekly sew together.

Now I wish you all this...

And The Winner Is.....

Hi everyone,

So glad to announce that I have a happy winner in the GYB giveaway.  Her name is Marianne Kutat, from "In The Bag - Ugly Quilt Challenge"  She won 5 purple fat quarters and I hope she will make something wonderful with them.  Congratulations Marianne.

As for me, I had 2 machines in the shop and couldn't do any sewing!  The brother is shot!  The old Singer Touch and Sew needed new gears and some tuning and I will get it back today.  He assures me it will be like a new machine.  So happy about that.

In the meantime, I finished my embroidery piece, got it framed, and hung in my sewing area.

Bitter cold here, hope you are all staying warm where you are.  Now I am off to get the chores done around the house.

Keep on sewing.....

Feb. BOM

I have finished my BOM for Quilt Doodles "Things I Like" quilt.  A cute tea pot!  I do enjoy having tea or coffee with friends  don't you?  So it will be meaningful in my quilt.

Applique is so much fun I should do more.

On the down side, I have 2 sewing machines and both have quit working.  I am fit to be tied with so much ready to be sewn.  Only one place I know to get it fixed around here and they were closed today.  Geez, I might actually have to clean the house or something!

Hope all of you are doing well, I guess I will go read some of the blogs I follow, and then there is a 2 hour TV show on tonight that I watch.  Thank goodness I'll have something to keep me occupied for awhile.  It will for sure be a popcorn night.

I have signed up for classes in bee keeping, (online)  Thought I might set up a hive and help save the bees.  And get honey too of course.  You can read more about that on my other blog here.  Just too many things in life I want to do and getting too old to do them all.

Keep on sewing my friends,

Sewing Get together

Hi All,

Wednesday morning and all is well.  This afternoon our little group meets at my friend Marilyn's home for sewing together on our projects and catching up on chit chat!  Always a great time and a nice break in the middle of the week.

We have been lucky here and have only gotten a few inches of snow over the last few days.  I feel sorry for those that have gotten hit hard from the last couple of storms.  As usual I have been keeping myself busy with my quilting.

I have made the binding for the bright colored throw quilt and am now hemming it down on the back side.  Will be done today.  Took a break to get into some spring colors and made a place mat that will actually go on my coffee table with some flowers or a little basket of eggs.  This will be for Easter time.

The February BOM's are out and I already finished Pat Sloan's block.  I'm doing it country and couldn't fit animals into this one so I put vegetables in it, as in "vegetable stand!"

The Quilt Doodle one is really cute, a teapot on a shelf.  All the pieces are cut out and ironed on the square but I still have to do the applique work on it.  Here it is before the finish.

I love tea pots so this is a great block for me.

Took my dog Angel to the vet's Sat. for her check-up and booster shot, Doc said she needs to lose a few pounds, sheesh!  She doesn't look like she has gained 5 lbs!  Diet time!

Try telling her that!

Well, wish me luck on that one lol.  Have a great day quilting my friends.
