HOPE YOU ALL HAD A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Ours was very nice, but quiet.  Had quite a wind storm and a lot of Michigan is without power.  We were lucky and only lost the internet, cable and phone.  It has been 3 days so I hope things back to normal soon.

The quilts I sent out for Christmas presents were well received.  I'm glad to hear that, and now I can show you the one I made for my brother.
It's a raider's quilt.  He was pretty excited to get it.

I had also finished another quilt that I made just to practice my free motion quilting on.  Still have a long way to go with the FMQ but it looks pretty nice.

Also had a Christmas table runner I forgot to show you.

 and it's reversible
So, short and sweet today.  Hope all of you are enjoying the holidays.

Christmas Projects

It's almost Christmas and I hope you are ready. I am so glad I don't have to run around for those last minute gifts!  Christmas can be a lot of work, especially if you have kids or big families.  So I wish to all of you peace and contentment for the holidays.

I wanted to show you the Christmas projects I worked on this year.  First of all I made a Christmas throw quilt to put on the couch. Sorry the photo is blurry.

Then I made a set of pillows.

I think they look nice .

I also made a wall hanging:
A quilt I made for my son:
And I also made one for my daughter-in-law: oops, there's a dog head in there!

And last I made a tree skirt for their tree:
So  yes, I've been busy!  But I enjoyed working on all of them and hope the gifts will be enjoyed.

Hello again,

I certainly took a long break, the whole summer and fall actually.  I was busy gardening and taking little trips, among other things.  Then of course, there was the fall clean up.  But now I am back and anxious to show you what I've been working on.

MY FLIP FLOP QUILT
FARM QUILT- SOME SQUARES WERE FROM A PAT SLOAN DESIGN
This little quilt went to my Daughter-in law
A SUMMER WALL HANGING
A TABLE TOPPER MADE FROM CHARM SQUARES
ANOTHER LITTLE TABLE TOPPER
BRITT'S BIRTHDAY QUILT

Well I guess that's enough of that.  I'll show you my Christmas things tomorrow.   Speaking of Christmas, I have all my shopping done, presents wrapped, boxes in the mail, etc.  How are you doing at your house?

What a strange year this has been, I live in northern Mi, and we have only has a sprinkling of snow!  Right now it is windy and very cold.

Here is a picture of our Christmas tree which has all home made ornaments on it.

Until next time my friends,

Tennessee Trip

I love this photo, it is finally spring, and almost Easter!

I have been down to Tennessee to help my son who was in an accident at work.  His arm was caught in a conveyor belt and he was in the hospital for 10 days.  He needed help when he got home so Mom to the rescue.  His arm was ripped up pretty bad and broke in 4 places.  He has started therapy now and they do expect him to regain full use of his arm.  Thank God for that.  I was there for 2 weeks after he got home to help him with things.  He is doing better now and they are teaching  him how to change his own dressings.

Next week I will be off to California to see my Grandson for his 5th birthday.  I haven't seen him in about 2 years so I can't wait. Kyle is a real cutie.

As for my quilting I finished this wall hanging for my granddaughter before I left

I won a give away from Barb at Wont To Be Quilter .  She loves to do give aways from time to time and I was lucky to win this one.  More cat fabric! lol  Thanks again Barb.

Speaking of cats, here is another peek of some squares I am working on for my cat quilt with the material I won here from Pug Mom Quilts.  Notice the arrow, it points to my kitty's paw!  She must like that cat.

So now that I am home, I have started cleaning up the yard a little as weather permits.  Had to go grocery shopping and hubby tagged along and we went out for Chinese lunch.  So yummy.  Tomorrow I will be going to my friend Marilyn's home for a little sewing get together.  I missed seeing my quilting friends while I was gone.

Hope you are all getting some nice spring weather and working on some fun spring projects.

Still cold outside and still sewing inside

Still in the single digits to low 20's.  Did not get the rain and ice so many are dealing with and I am happy about that.

Project Update

Another row added to the butterfly quilt.

I made 2 big cat faces that I am making into wall hangings,

and I have finished the Pat Sloan March Block

Remember the Hancock Cracker Pack I won?  40 - 10" squares? Well I have figured out what I am going to do with them.

Will update you on this project later.

On the down side, my son in TN was in an accident at work.  His arm was caught in conveyor belt and he has been in the hospital since last Saturday.  Having his 3rd surgery today.  Arm broke in 4 places, and they are trying to save his skin.  Hoping he can go home by next Monday and I will be going there to help him out at home.
I will post here as I can.  Thank you for any prayers for his healing.

Hope all of you and your families are well.  Keep on quiltin'.

Two More Tops Made

Hi everyone, hope all of you are progressing well on your projects.

I have finished 2 more tops.  The first one was a jelly roll, bright and cheery for summer!

The second one was from a pattern called take 5, here is a pic of the pattern

And here is the one I made

So those 2 will have to be sandwiched and quilted.

Still working on quilting my butterfly quilt, and started a cute wall hanging of a big cat face.  Will show that later.

The Hancock pkg of 10" squares I won from Nancy at Pug Mom Quilts arrived in the mail today.  Whoo hoo.  Now I will be pouring over patterns trying to decide how I want to use the material. Thanks again Nancy.

And for those household members that like to 'borrow' your scissors

Still cold here and suppose to get a little more snow.  Getting tired of winter.  February and March always seem to drag by.

Keep on quilting!
